Einstein

Einstein is a dockerized software suite that allows hospitals to store pre-processed and validated data for fast and easy distribution to research projects. It also provides access to Virtuoso that can be queried with SparQL. Einstein is based on the SPHN Connector and integrates various components of the SPHN Connector like the (MINIO Object Storage), (Airflow) or the (Postgres Database).

Services

There are several services that Einstein provides in order to deliver data in an easy and efficient way. For a standard user, it should be sufficient to access the endpoints Einstein API and Einstein API docs. The other endpoints are mainly meant for debugging purposes and admin users. Clicking on the services' names will redirect you to the corresponding service.

Architecture

Einstein has two main data storage formats: Postgres RDBM, OpenLink Virtuoso. Patient data that is loaded onto these databases can be either queried directly or they are used to serve the data to so called service connectors, which can retrieve the data and transform them from the RDF triple format to any other format. These service connectors are not included in Einstein but they will use the API endpoint provided for querying or accessing the data. The API endpoint also guarantees that only authorized person or services can access the data.
